K4 History
In 1963 John Kieckhefer purchased Driftwood Ike from Roy Wales. For 17 years Driftwood Ike helped influence the breeding program at the K4 Ranch as well as making a huge impact on the horse industry. He is buried at the headquarters and will forever have a special place in our hearts.
In 1998 we recieved the AQHA Legacy Award with great honor.  This award is given for registering horses with the AQHA for 50 consecutive years.  We are proud to say that we are still registering colts with Driftwood 2833, and Driftwood Ike still on the papers!
Today our breeding program has grown extensively, we are currently breeding three stallions. We have introduced the Cee Booger Red breeding to our program and have found that its cross on Driftwood bred mares has proven to provide very versatile horses.

Cee Booger Red has sired great horses like; Boogers Red Harlan, Boogers Mindi, and Boogers Bad Boy all of which have carried top cowboys to the NFR.  These include Jerome Schneeberger, Rick Kieckhefer, Joe Beaver, and Trevor Brazile.
